The R&I Guys (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a mobile application that helps technicians create, share, and discover remove-and-install (R&I) procedures.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

  1. Provide and operate the app and related services
  2. Send push notifications you choose to receive (e.g., replies to your posts)
  3. Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
  4. Monitor, analyze, and improve the app’s performance and features
  5. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or misuse of the service
  6. Comply with legal obligations

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EU/UK users)

We process personal data:
• to perform our contract with you (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR)
• for our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the service (Art. 6 (1)(f))
• with your consent where required (Art. 6 (1)(a))

You may withdraw consent at any time from inside the app or by contacting us.

4. How We Share Information

We never sell your personal information. We share it only:

  1. Service providers – trusted partners who help us run the app (e.g., Google Firebase for authentication & push notifications, Google Cloud for hosting, Squarespace for this website).
  2. Analytics providers – to gather aggregated usage statistics (no data that identifies you is disclosed).
  3. Legal & safety – if required to comply with law, protect rights, or prevent harm.
  4. Business transfers – if we are involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer as permitted by law.

All service providers are bound by confidentiality and may use data only as instructed by us.

5. How Long We Keep Information

• Account data — while your account remains active. You may delete your account from the app, after which we remove or anonymize personal data within 30 days (back-ups within 90 days).
• Content you post — remains visible until you delete it or your account is deleted; residual copies may persist in backups.
• Usage logs & analytics — kept up to 12 months then aggregated or deleted, unless we need them longer for security, legal, or accounting purposes.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive your data in portable form
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Inside the app you can:

• Update your profile information
• Disable push notifications
• Delete your account (Settings → Delete Account)

7. Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, regular audits) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be announced in-app or by other reasonable means.
